"RALLY for Kids" Event

“RALLY for Kids Concert”
Wed, June 1 (5-8pm)
Barkley Square

Park Place, Shawnee Mission Health and Raised with Love and Limits have teamed up to hold a special children’s concert for families.  The concert’s theme, “RALLY for Kids”, represents the mission and name of the new Kansas City non-profit organization, Raised with Love and Limits.

The evening will feature performances by the popular bands Peanut Butter Hamster and The Rockin Rob Show. Other children’s entertainment includes balloon artists, face painters and a magic show.

Shawnee Mission Health will host a mini hospital station where kids can get fun bandages while parents have the chance to ask a pediatrician health questions.

A special parenting component, “Parenting to Go”, will be provided by Shawnee Mission Health’s LIV: Living in Vitality program. “Parenting to Go” gift bags will also be available at the event. The first 100 parents will receive a free copy of the new book, Discipline with Love and Limits, written by Raised with Love and Limits founders Barbara C. Unell and Dr. Jerry Wyckoff. The book was just named to a Top Ten list of Best Parenting Books by Brain, Child Magazine. Contents of the gift bag also include special family offers from participating Park Place merchants and healthy gift items from Shawnee Mission Health. Supplies are limited. The authors will be available to autograph books and answer parenting questions.

Raised with Love and Limits is the new nonprofit organization that supports every parent through positive, evidence-based, parenting skill-building that fosters children’s optimum mental and physical health and lowers the risk of adverse childhood experiences.

In case of inclement weather, the event will take place in the former Ingredient restaurant, located on the north side of Barkley Square.
