In the October 3 edition, a profile on the only mixed-use development community in Leawood ran that discussed new urbanism, tenants and the future of Park Place in an article entitled ‘Alperts latest project brings new urbanism to Leawood.’

“Move over, Boardwalk, it is all about Park Place, at least in Leawood.Both developers were quoted several times throughout the article.

“There are people here at all times, day and night,” said Jeff Alpert, co-developer.

"The mayor has coined it Leawoods new downtown, and that is what we rally wanted it to be – a place where the community would gather either on an informal or formal basis through the year,” Melanie Mann, co-developer said. “We have often heard people say that it feels like they are in a different town. Not so much the architecture, but there is no place that feels like a community as much.”
