Mixed-Use Development Underway in Southern Johnson County

Construction is now underway for phase 1 of Park Place development in Leawood, KS. Ground was broken on November 2, 2005, for this $125 million project that will be located at the northeast corner of 117th and Nall.
Park Place is the first mixed-use destination of its kind in Johnson County. It is a pedestrian-friendly development that will offer 52 luxury condominiums, 125,000 square feet of retail shopping, 80,000 square feet of boutique “professional” office space above shops and restaurants along with parks and gardens. Park Place will be located in the heart of Leawood, bringing a vibrant and cosmopolitan lifestyle to one of Kansas City’s most desirable suburbs.
More than 300 people attended the groundbreaking and reception, including Leawood Mayor Peggy Dunn, Leawood City Council members Gary Bussing, Jim Rawlings, Gregory Peppes, James Taylor and Debra Filla, Kansas State Representative Pat Colloton, Leawood Chamber of Commerce Chair Marsha Monica and Leawood Chamber President and CEO Kevin Jeffries.
