Melanie Mann named one of 50 Influential Women in Kansas City
03.01.2007
Melanie Mann was named one of 50 Influential Women by KCB magazine. As co-developer of Park Place and president of Mann Development Company, she was recognized for her hard work at the first annual 50 Influential Women Luncheon in March.
From the article:
As a commercial developer, Melanie Mann has shaped the landscape of southern Johnson County for more than two decades. She is currently spearheading Park Place, a $125 million mixed-use development near Leawood’s Town Center Plaza. “We wanted to add a place to capitalize on the outstanding assets, amenities and reputation of Leawood—where people could enjoy dining and shopping, as well as civic and social activities,” says Mann. Because of her success as a developer, municipalities have welcomed her influence in their cities. Leawood Mayor Peggy Dunn believes Mann’s influence in the area is “visionary.” She says: “I feel most fortunate that Melanie Mann and Jeff Alpert chose the City of Leawood in which to locate Park Place. [They] raised the bar for all future new-urbanism projects in our community.”
